One of the most powerful cosmic rays has been recorded in detail by an array of telescopes on Earth. This cosmic ray operates in all wavelengths and has helped us discover the nature of a space-traveling “cosmic monster” from the ancient world.
According to Sci-Tech Daily, a research team from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) has discovered a rare ray of light energy, traveling at nearly the speed of light, created by an extremely catastrophic event in space 8.5 billion years ago.
Beyond this great space-time, the energy source was so powerful that it still became an unusual ray of light before the eyes of terrestrial telescopes.

More than 20 telescopes from the United States, Australia, India, France, Chile… were mobilized to learn more about the mysterious source of light and determine that it is a TDE – star swallowing black hole event.
After a fierce bite and eating the unlucky star, the black hole ejected a “burp” in the form of an extremely powerful jet. This stream of high-energy matter is what blinds Earth-based telescopes, even though the light emanating from it has traveled 8.5 billion light-years through space.
The event is named AT2022cmcan unusual TDE and must have been injected from an extremely fast spinning monster black hole.
“These observations help us explore extreme physics and energy that cannot be produced on Earth.” – said Professor Jeff Cooke, lead author of the study.
The research has just been published in a scientific journal Nature.
