A trio of asteroids, including two in the potentially hazardous category, will pass through Earth’s orbit this week.
According to NASA, the first is called 2012 DK31 will pass by our planet just 4.8 million km away on February 27 (US time, corresponding to the evening of February 27 to the morning of February 28 in Vietnam).

Previous calculations had shown that this extraterrestrial threat had a diameter corresponding to the height of a 40-story building, or approximately 137 m. Its orbit around the Sun intersects Earth’s orbit every few years.
Theo Live Sciencealthough this meteorite did not cause an impact during this approach, it was still classified by NASA as a group. “Potentially dangerous asteroid” (PHA)which is large enough and whose orbit is close enough to Earth to pose a potential risk.
It is not uncommon for asteroids to suddenly change orbit in space, and PHAs are the type capable of causing collisions if an orbit change occurs.
On February 28 (US time), a second PHA, also with a diameter of approximately 137 m, will approach our planet, at a distance of only 3.5 million km. He has a name 2006 BE55“scare” Earthlings approximately every 4 to 5 years.
Finally, on March 3 (US time), an object approximately 76 m in diameter will pass in front of Earth at a distance of 5.3 million km. However, the size of this asteroid gives it a name 2021 QW) – not large enough to be classified as a PHA, but still threatens Earth every few years.
