Officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities have confirmed the existence of a previously unknown corridor hidden just above the main entrance to the Great Pyramid, the largest of the famous Giza pyramids.
Depending on the station BBCthis discovery comes from ScanPyramids Projectuse one non-invasive imaging technique called muography to explore areas where the entrance to this mysterious pyramid is not yet found.

Muography uses the muon, a subatomic particle present in cosmic raysenough to penetrate the thick walls of the Great Pyramid and reveal the density of the structures inside, thus revealing previously unknown spaces.
After detecting an anomaly approximately 7m above the main entrance, further tests were carried out with radar and ultrasound before inserting a 6mm wide endoscope through a small joint in the middle of the stones to find your way to the mysterious corridor behind the north. face of the pyramid.
The endoscope video shows that the corridor is 9 m long and 2.1 m wide, has a V-shaped structure and is made of stone. The walls of the corridor are carved quite crudely.

Mostafa Waziri, president of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, said: “We will continue to scan to see what we can do next to explore the underside of the corridor, or the end of it.”
It’s logic Scientists still don’t know what this mysterious corridor is for or where it leads.
Until now, the only surviving wonder of the ancient world is still very mysterious with many unexplored parts, and there is not even a consensus on how it was built.

This 146 m high pyramid was built on the Giza Plateau during the fourth reign of Pharaoh Khufu, or Khufu, who reigned from approximately 2609 BC to 2584 BC. However, even this pharaoh’s tomb, which would normally be found in the pyramid he built, has not yet been found.
Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass said the corridor was a major discovery, hoping it could help reveal whether Pharaoh Khufu’s burial chamber still exists inside the pyramid.
He also speculated that there might be “something important” in the space below the corridor, we hope that the next stages of the investigation will yield results in the coming months.
Earlier in 2017, scientists discovered another void thanks to muons in this universe. It is a space estimated at 30 meters long and several meters high, located directly above the Grand Gallery. The purpose of this large room is still controversial.
