Ghostly lit in the radio observatory’s field of view, hundreds of inexplicable structures are believed to be the remnants of a ferocious event involving the black hole Sagittarius A*.
Research conducted by Professor Farhad Yusef-Zadeh from Northwestern University in Illinois – USA has revealed that these are the fibrous structureresembles snakes or giant tangled ropes, 5 to 10 light-years long – several thousand times the distance from the Sun – Pluto.

They are mysterious radio structures discovered by MeerKAƬ, a network of 64 interconnected radio antennas in South Africa, according to the article published in the journal Science. The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

“It appears to be the result of material interactions with nearby objects.” – commented Wood Yusef-Zadeh.
