WRITING COMPETITION: MAN AND THE UNIVERSE
As part of a series of events to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its establishment and create a useful playground for astronomy enthusiasts in the country, the Hanoi Amateur Astronomy Society (HAS) is organizing a competition writing. “MAN AND THE UNIVERSE” with the aim of connecting our passion for astronomy, by writing our own astronomy stories together.
1. Duration and method of the examination:
– Schedule: From May 4, 2018 to May 22, 2018.
– Method: All registrations must be sent to the following email address: [email protected] with the subject: Writing competition: MAN AND THE UNIVERSE
– Articles in doc, docx or pdf format.
– The article must clearly state information about the author: Full name, Year of birth, Address, Telephone number.
– The article must be accompanied by the name of the subject and a descriptive image (if applicable).
2. Information on participation:
– Target audience: All astronomy enthusiasts;
– Subject of the article: the writer chooses freely (all commemorative stories about astronomy, the most beautiful moments with astronomy, or telling how you got into astronomy… or fiction stories about astronomy stories you can think of. Any story you can write astronomy about is eligible.)
– Age: Unlimited
– Length: No more than 10,000 words
4. Evaluate the essay and exam rules
– All participants must like and share the competition event.
– The article will be graded according to the following criteria:
+ Basic standards of an article (clear and coherent article, attractive and unique content…)
+ Important positive point: the article “Inspiring” can inspire everyone, which is a big advantage.
+ Criteria for the scientific and creative character of the article.
+ Criteria for dissemination of articles, by vote.
– The final results will be announced on May 24, 2018 via email and on the competition fanpage media channel. It is also the 10th anniversary of the creation of the association, an immense spiritual reward for the author of the best article.
– We will select the best entries to post on the homepage and the author will ask their friends to like and share to increase interaction. The first prize will be awarded to the article which has the most likes and shares and which generates enthusiasm. The most passionate about astronomy.
– The decision of the organizing committee is final.
5. Rewards
– 1 First Prize: 1 telescope (worth 1,000,000 VND)
– 1 Second Prize: 1 telescope (worth 500,000 VND)
– 1 Third Prize: 1 Starlight + Map of the solar system
– 02 Consolation prizes: Choose one of the attractive gifts (color-changing constellation cup, solar system, compass, star map, solar system…)
6. Rights of use and limitation of liability
The organizing committee reserves the right to publish and use the entries for any purpose without additional charge and the copyright remains with the author.
The Promoter is not responsible for any issues with items submitted to the program, so please check carefully before and after submission. The organizer is not responsible if the competition is canceled or postponed due to force majeure.
