1. Ganymede – The largest moon in the solar system.
At first glance, Ganymede is quite similar to Earth’s Moon, but Ganymede, Jupiter’s moon, is the largest moon in the solar system. It’s so big it has its own magnetic field – something other moons don’t have.
2. Miranda – Super bad moon.
At first glance, this moon looks like debris assembled and orbiting Uranus. Miranda is the moon with the most relief in the solar system. If you drop a boulder from the highest mountain on the moon Miranda, it will take 10 minutes to hit the ground.
3.Callisto- The moon has the most depressions.
In the solar system, Callisto, the moon of Jupiter, is considered “a poor kid with acne”. Callisto has no geographic activity to affect the surface, and depressions emerge over the years. The surface of Callisto, 4 billion years old, is dotted with depressions.
4.Dactyl-The most monstrous meteor moon.
Dactyle is the smallest moon in the solar system. The strange thing about this moon is that it does not revolve around a planet but around an asteroid. Dactyl has helped astronomers answer many difficult astronomical questions: determining the weight and structure of Ida, the meteorite around which Dactyl orbits by studying Dactyl’s orbit; dispelling the theory that meteorites were too small to have their own moons.
5. Epimetheus and Janus-two moons avoid collision at extremely close distance.
Epimetheus and Janus are two moons of Saturn that share the same orbit and are found every 4 years in extremely close positions.
