according to the sheet Space, NASA is about to launch the special tool is PolSIRa radiometer designed to study the strange objects that form in the upper atmosphere, above the clouds that we still see.
It’s the icy cloud in the shape of a flying saucer or a giant, flat cake, which contains a lot of important information for our own lives.
A pair of SolSIRs will be mounted on two satellites and launched into low Earth orbit, where they will have a clear view of objects floating just above the subtropical and tropical skies.
The way they form changes reflects fluctuations in the global climate, but their hidden position above the clouds is a challenge. Therefore, something must be approached from above.
“The study of ice clouds is crucial for improving climate predictions. This is the first time we have been able to study ice clouds at this level of detail.” – Deputy Administrator of the NASA Science Mission Directorate, said.
The two satellites carrying two PolSIRs will be cube-shaped cuesat satellites. The pair will orbit each other for 3-9 hours, allowing continuous data collection from these strange “ice flying saucers”.
PolSƖR is part of a larger series of missions called Earth Venture to explore Earth and improve the planet’s ability to predict future changes.
