The American space agency NASA (NASA) recently declared that it does not detect the risk of collision between asteroids and the Earth for at least 100 years.

The above information is presented in the new Space Defense Strategy and Action Plan released by NASA to guide the agency’s efforts for the next decade.

For the past 30 years, NASA has conducted research on Near-Earth Object (NEO), which includes asteroids and comets that orbit the Sun and are within 30 million kilometers of Earth’s orbit. NASA said studying the OT would help scientists better understand the birth and formation of the solar system, and help detect potential collision risks, due to the movement of some OTs in orbit. Orbits can bring them closer to Earth.

According to NASA, the main objectives set out in the defense plan include improving efforts to investigate, detect and characterize NEOs, as well as developing and implementing technological solutions to mitigate the potential impact of the NEO. NEO, similar to those applied and the promotion of international cooperation related to NEO. investigation and risk avoidance.

NASA official Lindley Johnson says a collision between an asteroid and Earth could have catastrophic consequences, but it’s also the only natural disaster that humans currently have enough technology to detect early and prevent. it is completely blocked. NASA’s strategy announcement aims to strengthen the agency’s efforts over the next 10 years, ensuring operations both domestically and internationally in an effort to protect the Earth and the interests of humanity. .
