A space observatory launched in cooperation between China and France is tasked with capturing gamma-ray bursts, one of the most mysterious and powerful events in the universe.
According to the Space newspaper, the French National Space Center (CNES) and the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) will cooperate to launch a The new space observatory is called SVOM (multi-band astronomical variable object monitor).

SVOM will scan the vast space around us to record short-lived and extremely intense cosmic explosions, with gamma radiation and X-rays emitted throughout space.
THE gamma burst is still tinged with mystery, but the most probable hypothesis proposed by scientists is the birth of a black hole of stellar mass.
Stars like our Sun, when they run out of energy, temporarily explode into a red giant star, then collapse into a white dwarf star. But giant stars, sometimes tens of times larger, can turn into black holes during the final collapse accompanied by the release of extremely powerful energy.
To study these events, SVOM brings numerous cutting-edge equipment. China team GRM Gamma Burst Monitor And VT telescope is responsible for searching for visible light from explosions. At the same time, France provided this observatory with two the telescopes are ECLAIR and MXTin which MXT specializes in capturing signals in the form of X-rays.
This observatory weighs a total of 1 ton and will function as a satellite in Earth orbit after being launched by the Chinese Long March 2C rocket, expected in December this year.
