Our Earth could one day no longer have a Moon.

The Moon has been around for 4.5 billion years and is about 1,000 years older than our planet. The role of this natural satellite is very important because it helps the Earth become a more habitable planet by reducing fluctuations in the Earth’s axis, resulting in fewer temperature changes. It also creates the tides that have guided humanity for thousands of years.
And recently, scientists discovered that The Moon is gradually moving away from the Earth.
The Moon is the only natural satellite orbiting the Earth. Previously, it was believed that the Moon maintained a constant distance from the Earth due to gravity, but the new discovery mentioned above has raised many questions related to the Moon. According to the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), The Moon is gradually moving away from Earth at a speed of 3.8 cm per year.
According to Professor Joshua Davies of the University of Quebec in Montreal, the new discovery about the increasingly distant distance between the Moon and the Earth is very interesting.
Although scientists predicted this phenomenon centuries ago, they can now confirm that The Moon was once very close to Earth, about 250,000 km closer than it is today.
Simulations of the evolution of the Earth-Moon system show that at this rate of separation, the Moon will stop moving away from Earth in about 15 billion years. And the Sun will enter the phase “Red Giant” dangerous in about 6 to 7 billion years. At that time, the Sun will increase in size 100 times, engulfing planets near it.
And scientists believe that if the Moon separates from Earth, it will be pulled toward the Sun and disappear.
The phenomenon of the Moon’s distance also affected the Earth’s climate. Although these changes will be insignificant in the short term, their impact will become more pronounced over billions of years.
