The solar cycle will reach its apogee 1 year earlier than expected

After modeling the activity of the Sun, the researchers made a new prediction: the Sun will reach its peak in the next 6 to 12 months only.

Previously published studies have shown that the Sun’s activity peaks in July 2025.

The new prediction is based on certain magnetic activity from the Sun and uses a specific phenomenon known as End point of the Hale cycle.

with pages IFLScienceDr. Scott McIntosh, deputy director of the US National Center for Atmospheric Research (NAAR), said predicting the Sun’s activity is no easy task. Scientists use models based only on partial observations of the Sun’s activity during the Hale cycle.

Each solar cycle generally lasts about 11 years. During the cycle, the energy activity of the Sun becomes more and more intense as it approaches its “peak”.

At this peak, the magnetic field will gradually reverse and the north pole will gradually become the south pole on the Sun. After that, solar activity gradually decreases to a “minimum”. And another solar cycle begins.

The exact length of the cycle is not always 11 years, the shortest being 8 years and the longest 14 years.

The Hale cycle will consist of 2 solar cycles, usually lasting 22 years.

It is currently Solar Cycle 25 (SC25).

Our sun is a hot, glowing ball of gas filled with electrical charge, creating the sun’s powerful magnetic field. High temperatures cause these charged gases to constantly move around the Sun. This movement generates a lot of activity on the surface of the Sun.

Currently, solar activity is much stronger than expected. The sun continuously emitted massive surface flares (CMEs) and shot high-intensity plasma jets into space.

Recently, the Earth has been continually alarmed by scientists whenever the plasma beam aimed at Earth bombards, knocks down satellites, GPS navigation systems, the internet, and disrupts the power grid.
