21 telescopes around the world are pointing toward the oldest and oldest monster black hole in history, where a stream of energy from the dead is heading toward Earth.
Theo The independent, where the “monster” resides occurred black hole tearing event (TDE). Only 1% of TDEs result The phenomenon of plasma jets and radiation sent back into space from both sides of the black hole.
This time, one of these two deadly energy streams – the remnants of the black hole monster’s stellar feast – is heading straight for Earth.

“We have only seen a handful of TDE aircraft and they remain very strange and poorly understood events.” – leaf Space cited astronomer Nial Tanvir from the University of Leicester (UK) and the European Southern Observatory (ESO), a member of the international research team.
The discovery of this TDE – given a name AT2022cmc – took place in February, when the ZTF telescope located in California, USA, issued a warning about an unusual visible light source.
Immediately, ESO’s VLT supertelescope, located in the Chilean Atacama Desert, stepped in to check. In the end, there were 21 telescopes “struggle” to find out the nature of the incident.
As a result, the aforementioned monster black hole and its behavior were discovered. Incredible, it’s occurred when the universe was only a third of the actual age of 13.8 billion years. Thus, the jet stream carries “Leftovers” black holes also took more than 9 billion years to reach us.
This black hole is estimated to gobble up about half the mass of the Sun every year and today the signal is still very bright, showing that the jet stream from its meal is very huge and still blowing towards Earth.
Scientists continue to monitor this unique monster black hole and search for its companions, which could provide insight into violent things and phenomena that existed when the universe was young.
The findings have just been described in two research articles published together above Nature on November 30.
